The ingredients of grapefruits are helping pancreas for boosting insulin production. If the fruits are fresh, the benefits can be seen amazingly great. However, consuming fruits in juice form is less benefitting than the whole fruits. If the diabetics are eating grapes with seeds and skin, the benefits may be doubled.

You should also eat fruits that include grapefruit, peaches, lime and apples. Eat fruit and vegetables gradually throughout the day so your blood sugar level won't suddenly rise. You can also eat seafood of all types preferably boiled, steamed, baked or grilled - Not fried.

Eat white meats like chicken, fish and duck. Although you can eat lamb or beef once or twice a week. Eggs are fine for diabetics but try to avoid the yolk. Eating nuts is also equally needed for maintaining normal levels of blood sugar. Increase of sugar levels causes adverse side effects and directly attacks any part of the body, especially heart, kidneys, eyes and virtually the tissue cells in the whole biological system.
